You’re tired of the same thing day in and day out. You are bored with your life and you feel stuck.
You dream of traveling the world with a different career path and endless opportunities, but you simply can’t.
You’re trapped in a lease or a mortgage that ties you down, and it’s daunting to think about packing up and simply leaving.
Here are 10 reasons why you should take the leap, quit your contract, and move into a camper or RV.
This is coming from someone who has been living full-time in a travel trailer for 2 years with no intentions of changing this lifestyle, even with a baby on the way.
Freedom

You have the freedom of going anywhere you want and taking your home with you!
If you don’t like where you are living, you always have the ability to try something different. This is by far the greatest benefit of living in a camper.
Opportunity
Have you always dreamed of a certain job or living in a certain area?
When you finally land your dream job, you can pack up and leave very affordably, and skip all the dreaded cutting ties of rental agreements, selling a house, and everything in between.
Pay Increase

Jobs where you move every 4-6 months, pay A LOT MORE.
Your chances of getting a job when you’re willing to move often increase because you can easily pick up and go to the next relocation.
Many career paths have traveling job options; you don’t need a fully remote job online.
Cost of living
The monthly rent of an RV lot is significantly cheaper than an apartment or house. Especially in the most desirable areas to live.
For example, anywhere near the coast or a vacation spot will most certainly cost less to live in than an apartment or house. Most camper lot rent includes your water and electricity all in one bill!
The average monthly rent depending on location is anywhere from $400 – $700.
Rarely, in very trendy spots, I have seen upwards of $900 a month. If that is the case, a national park is often your backyard.
Peace

You get to live more within nature while living in a camper.
When I’m home, I get the seclusion and tranquility that comes from rural settings. It is calming to enjoy nature and see the stars every night.
There’s something to be said about not hearing car horns honking in the AM: forget the hustle and bustle.
I am a city girl, but only when I want to be. I LOVE THIS. A short drive to downtown when I want, away from the pollution when I don’t.
Debt Free, faster.
In my first year of camper life, I was able to completely pay off all the debt I had collected since I was 18!
An enormous weight is lifted off your shoulders after you pay your debt.
In my case it had been following me around, lurking in my subconscious until I was able to pay it off. I had never been able to do this before: financial freedom!
“58% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck after inflation spike — including 30% of those earning $250,000 or more.”
-CNBC News, June 2022
Save Money, Faster.
Even though I paid off my debt aggressively, I was living comfortably, not paycheck to paycheck.
You can travel, pay the debt, and save money all at the same time.
Moving into a camper doesn’t have to be permanent.
Save that money for your huge financial goals like buying property or moving to that super expensive dream city.
Housing Security

You will never have to worry about where you are going to live.
If you lose your job, can’t afford your mortgage, or god forbid something happens again, such as the events of 2020… You know you will always have a home, wherever you need to go.
Luxury Lifestyle
People have this hillbilly idea of camper living, but let me tell you, I AM BOUJEE.
You can afford to stay in fancy hotels, 5-star restaurants, resorts, and weekend getaways, on the regular! You can shop and buy what you want.
You can truly live life with an abundance mindset.
Life Experience

This is a life that not many people will ever experience and will be unique to you.
You can see more of the world and when you are ready to settle and find your place, you will know exactly where you are meant to be.
